Mrs. Margaret Scheffler's Fourth & Fifth Grade Class
Mrs. Scheffler's Shining Stars Newsletter
Volume 11
November 16, 2009
I'm looking forward to meeting with you at your child's conference this week!
Reading
We have been reading stories in our reading textbooks about the history of America. This has added to our learning in Social Studies. Since we will be wrapping up our Social Studies unit, we will once again be reading novels in reading groups. Be sure to ask your child what book they are reading.
Math
We will be having a Math assessment either this week or next week. Please be sure your child is practicing his/her flashcards at home.
Social Studies
In the next two weeks, we will be wrapping up Social Studies until after Christmas. We have had so much fun learning about the first Americans and the first European explorers to America. Next week we will be learning about the first Thanksgiving.
Science
Please let me know if you would like to drive to our field trip on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 9:00.
Religion
We will no longer be having weekly Bible quotes again until after Christmas. Instead, your child will be required to memorize their verse for the Christmas Program in December. I will be checking in with each child weekly to see how their memorization is coming along.
